How do I know whether I have an exhaust flap?

I have a 1995 Freda 2.5 diesel. The exhaust broke yesterday so I need a new one. I was going to buy this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181114139853? ... 1423.l2649 then I noticed that it said that this is not suitable for vans with the winter valve. I've no idea whether I have this valve or not. How do I tell?

One further question: Does anyone know of somewhere in the Reading/Berkshire area that can supply and fit Freda exhausts? I'd rather not have to crawl under the van unless I have to. I tried the main exhaust fitting companies, and they lose interest when you say it is an import.
Many thanks in advance.

The "Valve" looks like a bloody great vacuum unit fitted on the exhaust. It is about the size of an oil filter.

Mine was fitted with this device. I have since removed it.

You would notice is as soon as spotted if were there.

As for fitting this company is not far from you:

You may have an "engine warmer" button, mine is below-right of the steering wheel IIRC. Better, you don't have to crawl under the van, just pop your head under, about somewhere in the middle of the side-sliding door. If there is a big lump of metal joining the front and center exhaust sections with a rubber hose about 1/2" connected to it, that's the exhaust valve.

It could probably be removed if you're fitting the whole exhaust in one go as long as you blank off the vacuum hose or disable the solenoid that's under the passy seat.
