PLEASE HELP!! read everything i can about carseats!!!!!!!!!!

We have a 3 month old baby and a converted bongo therefore he needs to go in the front seat as it is the only seat with a 3 point seatbelt. We have tried the maxi cosi cabriofix but the seatbelt is too short. After reading advice on here we purchased a maxi cosi easybase 2 to fit in using the seatbelt. It fits in but the seatbelt buckle touches the base therefore creating 'bucklecrunch'. Ive read alot of posts with people having problems with seatbelts that are too long but ours are too short. Don't know where to turn next......PLEASE HELP!!! X
