What do the instructions for the new one say? I've recently bought one for my V6 (as per
http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... =3&t=63405) & have not got round to fitting it yet, but black is earth which is connected to the outer case, while white is the 'live' cable. If you can't see one of wires on the old one is connected to the case, try measuring the resistance on each cable to establish which is earth.

Black is the signal wire and white is the earth. Just have to get the multimeter out and test the original connections. Thanks.

I changed my Lambda recently. The wires on my vehicle are blue and white and white is the earth connection. Mine is 99 V6.
By the way since I changed the sensor I have had an improved MPG - was 17mpg now after 1000miles 21 mpg on autogas and the engine pulls better up hills with less of a flat spot..
