there are 2 wires coming of the fan .....one is the earth

have you stripped fan down and cleaned it...and looked at state of brushes

if you put a live to one wire on the motor feed and earth the other the fan works, but this may not be how the system is wired. it MAY be that the resister is switching the earth as well as the live, or that the blow selector completes the earth.
this MAY mean that the 2 wires at the motor are both live.

maybe Geoff can confirm how the system is wired. [-o<

It sounds like the older mechanical system, both methods apply (just to complicate the issue!);
The +12 volts is switched to the fan motor by a relay, when the ignition is turned on.
The speed is controlled by the resistors on the low or earthy side of the motor.
With the first switch position being Off where no resistor is connected.

The relay is G1-03
The resistors are G1-05
and the switch is G1-06

The electronic "Climate Control" version is different however ...
