My insurance company advised me that technically, putting a stick in the window would count as a modification as it was not as it left the factory, but they dont actually expect you to tell them every single thing. I gave them a list of mods inc towbar, LPG and air spring assisters which are now listed on my policy at no increase in premium, even though the cost of replacement would come in over £2000. If in doubt, tell them and it gives them less opportunity of wriggling out of any claims.

Hi
There's one thing everyone forgets to put on the insurance....
Window Tint....now there's a golden gift on any insurance assessors plate...reduced visibility!!!!!...even if it's only a whiff of tint!

I thought that you only had to declare non standard items that you fitted yourself Helen. Rear window tint is an original manufacturers standard fitting on most Bongos.

Hi Tony
I was thinking more along the lines of Limo tint (been guilty of that  )....and yes, no argument with factory glass...so I've chucked out the limo tint, and fitted factory black!....apart from which, the dogs clawed the tint film   ...I'm a great believer in tinted windows...they really help keep temperatures down....shame about not being able to have darker driver's and passenger windows!
Anyway...I reckon that many folk need to think about telling their insurers about tint film, as it's something we all forget.....
Cheers
