Air Con re-gassing

Post by ELZE » Mon Mar 03, 2014 9:53 pm

Had a Kwik service done Sunday and asked them to regas the aircon...What a bummer, said they had no technical data on the regassing so could not chance it?

Can't get car up on system so again no technical data so has put it down as a commercial van service???

Can anyone please guide me to the data they think they need to re-gas my system. What I find strange is that although I used a different branch to normal as they were getting a refurbish, KwikFit serviced and regassed my last Bongo just last year with no problems or queries??

Maybe I should just go elsewhere but with working away it's hard.

There's an excellent mobile guy in the Derbyshire area if you could route via there in your journey. Have a search, or else Ady (northern bungalow), Briwy or Ian de Bongomeister might remember their name.

You could mention this to the SM and they could contact them for data. KwikFit are usually very helpful and have some very good mechanics/ technicians

Trouble is you can never tell which depot they are at until it is too late and you've picked the wrong one.

Aye you could say that about a lot of garages and trades, unfortunately nothing changes. The secret is to complain most of them take complaints very seriously.

Even garages etc with good reputations can change overnight, staff come and staff go, owners come and owners go.

Exactly why I go to places where that doesn't happen and it's far more likely to happen at places like Kwikfit.

One Kwikfit has no problem finding out the information, another Kwikfit can't (or more like can't be bothered) to find out the information - that doesn't fill me with much confidence I'm afraid.

There's a fact sheet here http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/member ... aircon.pdf which gives the info about the gas they'll need, plus I believe it's 14ml of PAG oil.

Hi Mike, I can re gas your air con but it would have to be during the week, I have my a/c certificate and we have all the gear at work. If you can wait till you are back from work we could sort it.
Do what you like.Like what you do.
