Hi folks, following first trip of the year to Aviemore have just noticed that the fridge in my side conversion has stopped working.
Can anyone recommend someone in the Glasgow area that would be able to help.
Thanks,
Obi.

Re: Fridge
Could be the fuse on the control panel. When I had a similar problem a few years back the advice that I received here was to check out all the fuses. It turned out that there were some fuses at the back of the control panel and the control panel had to be unscrewed to get at them.

Re: Fridge
When it works is it silent? If so its an absorption fridge and could be vapour locked.
Test the supply and fuses if all ok test the heater, if that's ok, take it out and turn it upside down for 12 hours or so.
Re fit and it will work, this removed any vapour locks in the cooling system.
If its a compressor fridge, is it running but not getting cold? Gas leak, possible to fix if you can find some one who will look at it.
Not running at all check the supplies thermostat etc

Hi Tony and Winchman,
Thanks very much for your replies - hopefully it will be something simple like a fuse.
It's not silent when it's working winchman and it's not running at all now.
Cheers,
Kev.

Re: Fridge
So it was a compressor fridge.
Please unless you are ok working with mains electricity don't touch it beyond checking the fuse.
If you are
Check supplies and if its blowing fuses disconnect the compressor to rule that out, check the thermostat and see if its switching the compressor on and off
