Bongo Fury

Hi. I dropped the sump for a service last year, i stuggled to find the gearox filter as its not in the front right position. I did ring round a few places and they didnt have a clue.There is a metal mesh behind a plate, to remove it looks like a ring of bolts... Has anyone done this without springs flying everywhere

looks like the filter on my 2.5td,unbolt and wash out is all ive ever done

Does the filter casing have 9 holes ?

Does the box have any numbers, letters on it, these old bangers use Nissan auto boxes, it looks similar to the B-130 Nissan filter.

Hi... its UM100 box. the filter was the meshed part with the square hole. From other descriptions I though it was up near the cooler pipes. It was about 12 bolts of 2 different lenghts.

Does this look like it, if not your local Nissan Dealer should be able to help ..

If its like my V6 with an Atco 'box, undo a stack of bolts (noting where they go as there are 3 different types), wash it out with petrol and refit it.

Hi. Cheers for the help. It's had a good filter clear out tank blown through and new oil. It was a bit smoother but a couple of roundabouts it hesitated. I'm suspecting cavitation so I added half a litre. It's now about half an inch over the hot running (in park) mark. It is so much better now. Smoother and no hesitation. I'm suspecting the wrong dipstick.

If you have a um100 box (ali metal tag near catalytic convertor) can you measure your stick from wet end to the 3 notched marks and wet end to the start of the rubber bung.With the sump off the length looks correct but the wrong stick could have the notches in the wrong place.
