Ticking noise when foot on accelarator

I've noticed a rhythmic ticking noise when running (any speed) but only when accelarator is depressed, it completely disappears when I take my foot off pedal and when I am braking. Any ideas anyone what this could be? Potential problem? Thanks, Bev.

Do you have a Diesel vehicle?, if so worth checking the exhaust manifold for soot like deposits, they have can suffer from the studs snapping, mainly the front one.

Hi
First thing to check is for a stone in the tyres...strangely enough, I had one doing EXACTLY that with the throttle on and off, as tyres do change characteristics when accelerating.
After checking, see if you can drive along for a short distance with the passenger seat up, to check whether it's in the engine bay or elsewhere!
Cheers

Thanks I will do that, I did think of the stone but because it was only with foot on pedal assumed it was something in engine connected to that, will keep listening (hope it is that, only) if persists will do the engine thing. Thanks. Bev.
