Tinted windows advice Please

Post by emmaews » Fri Jul 18, 2014 8:34 am

Hi all,

We are now the proud owners of our first Bongo!! :D :D

We want to get the back windows tinted so that you can not see into the back for privacy but mainly security reasons and I think it looks better aswel. We have been shown various tints by the local guy who does it. Any ideas on the best colour to go for. I still want the kids to able to see out also !!

thanks in advance

Stylistically, the best is a direct match with the existing black window borders.

However, if you go for mirror foil, which mine came with, you can sit parked up and watch from the inside as a succession of vain girls admire themselves and use the windows to touch up their lipstick.

It really depends on the main body colour, I (personally) don't think mirrored windows really suit black bodywork and black windows can look strange on white or silver bodywork.

So you really need to decide what tint suits your body colour best - and that is down to your own personal taste.

I would get a few samples from Ebay and stick them on and see what you like best.
If you can wallpaper you could possibly do it your self as its not too difficult

What 'darkness' do people recommend? There are a variety of VLT levels to choose from.

For security (and looks), the darker the better, but I would still like to be able to see out!

Looking at the images on here http://creativedecals.co.uk/index.php?r ... duct_id=52 all the examples appear to be similar. I have the green/grey van and like the look of the example they show here.

why a tint, why not buy the factory black windows from a breaker.

they are an easy fit job.

The green/grey bongo in the ad was my bongo....

Standard limo black tinted film on the rear/sides... light smoke on the front windows (i know... naughty!) Some time after i applied a none reflective green tint film in addition to the limo black tints... So the windows were still black on the outside, green on the inside.

You could use a lighter tint, say medium smoke, then apply any coloured tint in addition if you want some colour to bleed through...
