Gearbox hunting TPS fail?

Hi All,

My Bongo's started hunting between top gear and the one below. It's not all the time, usually at a very steady speed 45-65mph, generally motorway driving. It generally does it for a few minutes, then settles down again.

The clinic archive suggests it may be the throttle position sensor (TPS). Where can I find it? Was thinking first of all about unplugging it and cleaning the contacts.

TPS location will vary depending on which engine you have (diesel / 2.0 / V6). Another option is the speed sensor in the gearbox. That would probably be accompanied by fluctuations in the speedo reading that don't tally with the vehicle speed.

FWIW, just had the TPS (diesel) checked and adjusted..what an improvement! Not exactly 5G's of acceleration, but really quite lively now. :D :D
