Thanks for the suggestion, we did look at this site but they don't allow dogs.

My post is a bit late and you've probably already booked, but HERE is a website that lists lots of dog friendly camp/caravan sites, guest houses etc and you can search by county. It may be useful next time.

Thanks, I'll bookmark that site. We haven't booked anything yet, we usually just turn up because it's not school holidays and we'd be arriving midweek so hopefully no problems getting a pitch.

Can certainly recommend Seaview at Gorran, stayed there over last Bank Holiday, beautiful site.

Does anyone know about this site? We are thinking of spending our 'proper' holiday there this August.

We plan to get buses from Mullacott Veterinary Hospital to Woolacombe and Barnstaple, although we may also drive to those places and Ilfracombe.

Any advice/suggestions welcome

Hi Sarah

We try and visit this area at least once a year as it has some beautiful spots. I don't think you will be disappointed. We normally stay at the Ruda Park in Croyde.

SunnyMead Farm looks a nice site and its own write up makes it sound a really freindly site. Tunnel beaches are worth a visit in Ilfracombe. Woolacombe Beach, Saunton Sands, Croyde Beach are all fabulous.

There's plenty for everyone in this area.

We stayed at Little Roadway Farm the year before last, not great - but it was ok. There are a few in the area - listings from uk campsites below.

We were going to stay at the C&CC site at Damage Barton 2nd wk in Aug but we may go to Harlyn Bay instead (We are in St-Ives for the first week)

We wanted to use a C&CC site as we joined in the Spring. Every time we have tried to book one it is already booked up. I tried Damage Barton this morning and she seemed surprised I had left it so late ('you do have to book in advance for peak times'). I thought 5 weeks was in advance! Talk about camping being flexible, see the weather forecast, pack up, and go

Anyway, I'll stop complaining about the effects of the credit crunch as I have booked a site.

We have never had a problem
Great little pebble beach to have BBQ's on and you can walk to Woolacombe along the coast or the road. The road is great going but steep hill coming back
If you go try the ship aground pub for food and a beer
