Marcus, when I did the UK Campsite search, I narrowed it down to fishing but forgot to further narrow it down to dog friendly. Sorry sure you can work it out

I have camped at the Innis Inn that Simon mentions, nearly three years ago, with another bongo member, Haydn, (bessybongo). Nice site, lovely Sunday lunches at the Inn. And lovely fishing lakes. Near to a lot of attractions.

Stithians Lake, near Redruth in Cornwall may be another possibility worthy of consideration. My mate has been fly fishing there for years (very successfully).

Just got back from Cornwall and my suggestions to add are Carne Beach nr Veryan(national trust but free and plenty of parking), Healeys Cyder Farm nr Perranporth (worth a visit just to see how Cider is made - though the Cornish Rattler is superb), Goran Haven, super little place and £2.50 to park all day, I said to the Car Park attendant I was in the Bongo and the roof was raised for changing before and after the beach, he said no worries and stay overnight if you want...
Other than the very changeable and very wet weather we enjoyed ourselves and will be back......

The National Trust (click for link) has some stunning properties in this area, just the thing for a wet and windy day, and most have nice cafes.

Working in Truro for the next few weeks, 5 days from 7, so whats the "word on the street" about things to do/places to go for a "man of Kent/Cockney in exile"? (but will be bongo-less)

if you drive out of St Ives along the coast road towards Zennor... just stop outside st Ives at Rosewall Hill.. there is a layby where you can park up.. lovely for a sunset and great easy walks on either side of the road..with spectacular views.. up Rosewall you can see both sides of the coast..with St Michaels mount on one side and st Ives bay the other.. worth it!
