If you're on a tight budget, then DIY refurb is fine, but for around £50 a wheel you can have proper vapour blast, repair and powder coat. I personally think mine look better than new:

i don't wanna pay for refirbing the wheels, as then you might as well buy some alloys :D

Google ...there are powder coating companies in Birmingam who .. chemical strip the wheel .. bead blast .. etch prime all the wheel .. powder coat ....... the front in any colour you want for £20 per wheel .. if you remove the tyre .. deliver the rim to them ..

I get mine done for ... ermmm .. a bit less, 'cos I know the guy who owns a company who does chemical stripping ..

You get a finish like this ..

If you can find a set of 'as new' alloys of the same quality as the originals for less that the cost of a refurb (especially at the B'ham prices) then let me know as I'll grab a spare set for winter tyres :)
