Hi. My problem is that the battery on my Freda has the positive on the left, whereas most of the replacement batteries seem to have positive on the right.
Anyone know where I can get the right battery?

Yes, providing the battery leads are long enough. Most batteries come with a choice of which way around the terminals are, so you just buy the correct version.

Hi, if you pop a rough location in your profile someone may know a supplier near you, or decent quality batteries can be sourced on line for very reasonable prices.

That's good for a Bosch battery.

These guys are cheapest I could find a couple of weeks back with Bosch S4 335 for £77 delivered.

The 334 listed looks identical except for terminals.

I can never remember whether it's 334 or 335 that has the correct terminal configuration but I think it's 334 and it's fitted back to front with the Bosch logo to the rear.

Yep, S4028 / 335. It's incorrectly listed on some websites as 334 version when searching for Mazda Bongo.

Any thoughts on the Bosch batteries vs Varta ones? My local garage (known and trusted) are recommending the latter, although considerably more expensive - about £130 vs £90 for Bosch. (I know it sounds like asking a barber whether you need a haircut or not, but they say they don't make anything on the batteries and fit them for free).

(Our Mazda battery has become unreliable, not bad after c.18 years of service though.)

Personally I would go with the Bosch ..

I had one of the "others" from a local company for my Estima .. I know they are a very small battery and it never seemed to have much power in reserve ... BUT ... maybe a coincidence .. some time later I noticed this in the local paper .. the same company that I got mine from .....

A COMPANY which supplied West Midlands Police with fake batteries to fit into their cars has been hit with a hefty fine.

Bosses from ******** pleaded guilty to a total of 36 charges relating to supplying counterfeit batteries.

At a hearing at Walsall Magistrates Court, the company admitted 24 offences under the Trade Descriptions Act 1968 and four offences under the Trade Marks Act 1994. …..................
