17 inch wheels

I currently have some 17" Mazda wheels, including a correctly sized spare. Need to change 2 tyres this year and the other 2 probably next, along with the wheels needing an asthetic overhaul.

I have 225/55 ZR17 101W tyres. My question is, what tyres are recommended for 17 inch wheels? also my buddy said it would be a better option to buy a new set of wheels and tyres as a package. Any opinions on this? And also any recommendations? Thanks in advance.
My thinking is if I go for a package option, I can refurbished my wheels once off the van and sell them on to offset the initial outlay.

Wheelquick in wigan are a Bongo garage who do some very good deals on wheels and tyres, nice people too.
Might be worth a call.
