led upgrades

Post by khisanth » Mon Mar 23, 2015 12:52 pm

Hi all i am looking to upgrade all my lights at some point to leds.... i love leds.

Firstly i want to upgrade ny sidelights and front and rear fog lighta but i seem to be unable to locate anything that says what the maximum watts for bulbs or leds that is allowed in either of these locations

Any advice or links be greatly appreciated. I have looked on the government website but as usual very vague with little information

The list of bulbs and wattages are on the Bongo Wiring Manual site here take the Tab to the lights section, no need to bother with the manuals themselves; http://www.g8dhe.net/bwm

So to keep it legal just match the led wattage and type to the ones on this link

Bear in mind that 21W rating for incandescent bulb will be completely wrong for an LED unit as LEDs draw considerably less power. For example, I've just replaced a 150W spotlight bulb on my shed with a 10W LED unit and the light output is roughly comparable. If I had 150W LED there would be a scorched piece of earth where my lawn once stood :)

I've tried 3 different LED tubes in the roof light, none work properly (only half the led's , approx, actually light) so have had to revert to the vintage mode. Any suggestions?

Do you mean the AFT light in which case I use these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/T10-501-W5W-B ... 43bca6176c
and for the Cabin florescent roof light I use: http://www.g8dhe.net/bongo_images/repla ... cent_tube/
The COB LED's are these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10W-High-Powe ... 46205970e8

Put one of these before your LEDs

Depending on the colour of the LEDs you could wake up to 6ft high grass
