Waeco MS 50 Cruise Control - Fitting
Hi There,
I've been looking at getting one of these kits fitted to my V6 bongo for a continental trip in July.
I've read all the previous posts, but was wondering if anyone had a fact-sheet they wouldn't mind sharing with me to assist the fitting?
Tom

PM me your email address. I've got notes on fitting to diesel engine and can provide info on the V6 installation.

Thanks Tom and the other couple of folk who also contacted me. One day I will get round to making my rough notes into a proper factsheet so it go in the members area but in the the meantime, I'll send a copy out with a few extra photos for the V6 (hopefully Friday).

After a 4 hour slog round M4/M25/M23, I could be tempted by one of these. Are they an easy fit on the diesel?

Can the MS 50 use a stalk type arrangement for operation?
Re: Waeco MS 50 Cruise Control - Fitting
yes! Especially with Simon's instructions. If you are not familiar with the parts affected (like me) it might take a bit of time to think through but nothing is difficult. It was a really satisfying job and worked perfectlyDr Fingers wrote:After a 4 hour slog round M4/M25/M23, I could be tempted by one of these. Are they an easy fit on the diesel?

first time.
After a duff 2nd hand purchase, I bought the MS 50 in Euro on eBay from der_campingladen for £80. Agree the delivery charge before the purchase - they tried doubling it afterwards.

Instructions have just been emailed to Tom, Rich & Mark. The biggest trouble is finding the correct stalk but I used "Waeco MagicSpeed Accessory MS-BE4" which needed the plug chopping off & then join it to the original controller plug. The colour coding was not an exact match as I recall but I can always investigate if anyone needs confirmation.

Whats wrong with using the control pad that comes with it?Simon Jones wrote:Instructions have just been emailed to Tom, Rich & Mark. I have for 8 years now without any problems.
I have now had 6 or 7 vehicles with CC and the Waeco pad is just as easy to use as any of them.
I now know exactly where it is without needing to look and can use it without even taking my eyes off the road.

Nothing wrong with the original controls, but the advantage of the stalk is you don't have to take your hand off the wheel as it just as easy to reach as the wiper or indicator switch. All my cars have had controls on the steering wheel and personally I prefer to have everything within close reach.
When I fitted the stalk (Waeco MagicSpeed Accessory MS-BE4), I noted down the following colour codes:
Stalk - Plug
Yellow - Yellow
Brown - Brown
Orange - Orange
Red - Green
Green - Not connected
