Lowering???

Hi there,

This is my first post.
I bought a silver tin-top last week ('98).
Such a cracking little wagon apart from the fuel consumption!!! Oh well...
It has 17" split rims on it and I have just put some 32mm spacers on it to 'beef' it up a bit. Looks better already, although it is 'sky high'.

I can't find any lowering springs or kits?
Do people normally cut the springs instead? (I'd rather not...)

Cheers for your help Bongo Dudes!!!

Hi and welcome
You can get lowered springs for them
But I think there hard to get at the mo as somebody has stopped making them or something
I've just bought some 25% stronger rear springs from these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MAZDA-BONGO-2 ... 1c3f938543
Might be worth a phone call see if they do them
You can get springs made any size weight etc and don't think its to expensive

I once saw a set of Bongo coilovers on eBay. Not seen them before or since and very much regret letting them slip through my fingers

Thanks very much for the info.
I will keep an eye on the ebay rear springs and look to get some fronts made to match. Failing that, I'll see if I can get a whole set made up.
It seems like discovering a full set of coilovers is going to be much like finding a 'white unicorn'!? Haha :D

You can set up a saved search on eBay and have it email you if anything new gets listed within the search criteria. Useful, as you don't have to keep logging in and typing it in each time.

Have you found the rear ones on there

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lowered-rear- ... 2a584d3264

1 day to go £20 + postage buy these and have your fronts custom made won't be as dear then

Might be worth contacting him seeing what happend to the front
This is becoming a more requested part
As bongos become more popular especially to the younger bunch
More are going to want to lower them
Someone should start to make the lowerd springs again

I did contact him, but he had no idea what the drop was, so it would be a bit of a gamble to find out...

I found a company in Sheffield that will make a set 50mm drop for about £160 plus delivery. I'll dig their details out tomorrow. I might buy a set as the ns rear is about 25mm lower than the os!

Ah yeah!!! That'd be great...

I wonder if the forum would be up for a group buy?
Might be able to save some £££'s

http://www.springcoil.co.uk/

£45 per spring plus vat and p&p so £216 plus p&p for a set.

They have previously made springs with a 50mm drop for the Bongo, but can alter the spec as required.
