Bongo Fury

Hi Gang,

I wanted to create a fun bumper sticker for my Bongo spreading the word about running your bongo on veg oil and created this. Even with our terrible MPG you have to be covering some distance on 100% veg oil to use that much. However I agree, you don't want to have to go through an investigation. They could really drag you through the mill if they wanted.

As I understand it, you are supposed to keep a record of veg oil bought and consumed, I have kept all my receipts in the 3.5 years I've had my Bongo.

I've run veg oil from day one, 80% in summer, 25% in winter and I haven't come near 2500 litres consumption in any year. I'm also not clear if this is in a financial year or a calendar year but as previously said I wouldn't want the hassle of HMRC crawling all over me for this. I keep my receipts in the van too, conveniently I buy my oil from Bookers in 100 litre lots so no need for dozens of receipts for 5 litres here or 10 litres there.

Aye, I just heard that the Government is to appoint a New Minister of Vegetable OIL Consumption In Vehicles.
The staff will be issued with specially trained Sniffer Dogs and digital detectors.

I do not have the exact costing as of yet but they recon somewhere in the region of Two Billion Pounds for the next Five years should just about cover it.

Take the p*ss all you like it doesn't bother me.

I've always believed in CYA and will continue to do so.
