Am I missing something -- Fiamma
So I've decided to get a F35 fiamma awning (the winding out one), but I also want a one of the privacy rooms. The "light" version doesn't seem to come in the 230 size which I believe is the correct length for the bongo. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Check the weight and size of the material needed for the privacy rooms before you make your mind up!
Re: Am I missing something -- Fiamma
The F35 is the manual pull out variant - the F45 has the crank handle which winds out from the van.
Usually you'll need the 2.5m or 2.6m for the Bongo ( I have a 2.6m on mine)
Don't think I've seen anyone with a privacy room for the f35 but I'm sure they do them.
Good point on the weight and packed down size of the privacy room they can be quite a big article!

F35 & F35 Pro are basically the cassette version of the Caravanstore awning which is unrolled manually. I prefer it to the F45 as it is a good few kilos lighter although it is more tricky to put away on your own than the windy-in version.
Re: Am I missing something -- Fiamma
Blimey, made a mistake before I even bought one. It's the F45S I want so easy to put up/down with one person. They only do it new in 2.3m and 2.6m.
Regarding the size of the "room" that's why I was looking at the privacy light. I think it's smaller, but could do with knowing how much as space is at a premium already.
Also is the 2.3m to short?

OK thanks, so there's divided opinion on the length but 2.3 might be a bit to short. Anyone got pics of there's closed on the van?
My God, I may have to go to one of those camping/caravan shows to check out awnings.
I'm just off to kill myself.

Here's my 2.6m F45

Excellent, going for the 2.6. What colour is yours wilnx.?
Seems they don't do the privacy light room for the 2.6 though. It does however go quite small looking at the picture of it packed. May have to go for the blocker panels. How long does it take you to put up g8dhe?
Cheers Spud.

Ours is home made! About 30 seconds to wind out the awning and about 10-15 minutes to put on the front and a side only use it at the Bash and a couple of other occasions when we know we are going to be static for a day or two.
Re: Am I missing something -- Fiamma
I'd expect non homemade ones to be as quick then. I can live with that, but gave up tenting because of the set up time etc. Don't want to end up it being as long.

Yeah deffo going for the 2.6, it's the walls I'm struggling with though.
Re: Am I missing something -- Fiamma
A little longer than 30 seconds, but not much, and no sides! At £20 for the Quechua tarp, some old gazebo poles attached to Bongo plus rubbers and hooks, it has to be one of the cheapest solutions! And it stays when we drive off or we take it with us .g8dhe wrote:Ours is home made! Downside: the gang call me Bongo Grylls. and it isn't blue or purple
Upside: I haven't seen another Bongo with one!! I know I know, would you want to
