Can you lubricate the accelerator pedal. My 2000 X 2.0l Bongo's pedal sticks a little first thing in the morning. If so, what should I use?
Thanks.

If it's the revs sticking ( high revs ) you sure it's not the cold start feature ( choke )

Hmmm....interesting!

I think the OP means that the pedal actually sticks in the idle position - when you try to gently press it for a smooth getaway, the pedal needs a sharp tap with your foot to 'free' it. After the initial tap its absolutely fine.... Ours does that too!

I've been meaning to have a nosey in the footwell but it's another of those 'roundtoit' jobs

If it's the same symptoms as ours, its not a sticking choke - just the pedal :D

My 2ltr does it too,has done since bought 5yrs ago, worse in the winter coild mornings.
I just jab it before starting and its fine. It did it when i first bought it and Wheelquick lubed all the cable, but it did it again several months later and ive just got on with it as it only stick till the initial press

This problem is often caused by the inner cable being frayed .

Good Luck

Mine also doing it for ages, always after being parked for a few hours or more.Eventually found the problem being that the cable end stop/cam adjuster had for some unknown reason become magnetized.Problem solved by gluing a small piece of plastic between the end stop & adjuster.

Thanks all....
Yes - I think it's just pedal sticking when first used after standing for a while. Sounds like it's worth lubricating the pedal and see how it's goes. Not a major problem, but I park overnight on a sloping drive which is tight for space to have to be careful when pulling away.
Would a spray grease be okay in the footwell on the pedal mechanism?

If its an auto box cover the brake with your left foot as you pull away.
