I'm about to fit a diesel night heater and was wondering where is best to tap into the fuel line?
From what I can see the easiest place is just near the engine before what I think is called the banjo filter, is this correct or will i need to tap in elsewhere?

Better place is to fit T-piece in the input pipe from the main fuel filter. There is a risk that if you fit it too close to the injector pump that it can draw diesel back from the pump which could make it difficult to start in the mornings. Make sure you fit an inline fuel filter too.

You can just see where I had it fitted in the bottom left of this picture.

incidentally where did you get the blue hose?

To carry out a proper installation you will need 2x inline check/nr valves to stop the occurance of cavitation or pump starvation.

I guy on here called flippa used to do silicon hoses, and those could possibly be they. Some issues with leakage with silicon hoses though from those who fitted them. All to do with tightening / necessary retightening of the jubilee clips though maybe constant pressure clips would avoid that happening.

I fitted the silicone hoses in 2008 and to the best of my knowledge they are still going strong. I have heard that some people have not been so lucky but I think the key factor is the quality of the clamps used to hold them in place. Personnally, I would use genuine Mazda hoses in future as they are tried and tested.

gordie , do you have approval from your Insurance Company for DIY fitting of this heater. The reason I am asking is, I have friends that were knocked back as a No No. They are still looking for a Company that will take on the risk. Any information of Companies would be much appreciated.
