Thermostat & Bleeding??

Ok, I have purchased a second hand front heater matrix that I will be replacing in the upcoming weeks. I will obviously be draining the coolant in order to do so and then will bleed the system when finished. Seems as though I have read somewhere that the bleed process will go quicker if the thermostat is removed. Is this correct and once I fit the new thermostat is bleeding process not required??

No doubt the bleed process will be quicker with the thermostat removed but your Bongo won't get up to operating temprature. This will cause poor fuel consumption and the heaters won't work.
You can't fit the 'stat after bleeding, ie if you replace the 'stat you will need to bleed again.

Thanks Bob, that's what I needed to know.
