Faulty fuel guage

The needle on my fuel guage won't go up past half way, even after completely refilling the tank. Has anybody else ever had this problem? Is there anything that can be done? Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Common fault with the fuel gauge is the earth connection.
Easy fix and there's loads on here, a search should reveal all.
Yep, some tips in the Fact Sheet and there's this one:

Good documentation of a fairly common issue on this thread: (Literally a decent bit of thick wire and a few nuts and bolts/scrub down with emery paper/wet and dry to bare the metal surfaces for the earth connections.)

Quite an easy fix if it is not sender unit related. Good luck.

I have seen the actual sender showing high resistance so if the usual Earth method wont work take the sender out, run an earth from the base of the sender to the lid and it should cure it
Pics here as it wont let me up load?

Sorry, I never said thanks for the advice! It was exactly as you said. I just made an earth wire from the tank to the frame and it solved it. Easy!
