Yes they are supposed to. There are 3 or4 very small bulbs. Seen threads on here about people searching for replacements. Personally I used LEDs
There's a fact sheet

Hello everyone. I’m trying to get to the bulbs that light up the heater buttons. Any tips how to get to them? I’ve had a look after removing the unit from the dash, I can see a brass screw either side that secures the unit retaining clips but haven’t gone any further as seems a lot just to replace bulbs. Grateful if someone could advise me if I’m on the right track.
Andy

There are a couple of different styles, if its the electronic style then see here

Otherwise go back up a level and choose the other diagram!

Thanks Geoff found them but can’t find anywhere that sells them with the correct plastic base. Found some on Temu which look similar.

You move the bases over they are not part of the lamp themselves, I've always got mine in the past from CPC but haven't looked for a while for them now. Try wire ended bulbs 12v;
