Quick release steering wheel?

Post by Dr Fingers » Mon May 02, 2016 2:35 pm

Thinking of sleeping front/mids, but the steering wheel is a problem. Has anyone fitted a 'quick release" wheel, and if so, what bits would I need?

Presumably it would involve losing the air bag?

Thanks

Derek

I think Helen is your best bet on this on as I seem to recall she has done this. Not sure where you might stand regards MOT and insurance as the general rule seems to be that if a safety feature like an airbag is fitted at manufacture, then it should remain in place.

Hi Derek
If you have an airbag model, forget it, as Simon says...if not, it's an easy job, but take care with selecting the type pf boss you fit....BUT, they are a great security item, plus they are rather good if you sleep on the front seats.

Hi Derek...
The "strings" are a bit slow, 'cause of the stroke, but my fingers are getting more accurate....the tin whistle is pretty fair, and progressing nicely with the reading....onto the Low "D" whistle soon , to learn the "piper's grip", then transitioning to the Lowland Pipes later this year.
Yes....the air bag's a problem....whilst I like the safety angle, I do like old-school wheels...I have a rather special replica wood-rim!...
Oh...I'm on Fb if you look
Cheers
