Broken interior door lever

Hi, newbie here, my interior door lever/ handle on the Bongo I recently purchased has snapped. I've managed to get it all off the lever wire etc. but a remaining bit of it is still stuck on the plastic attached to lever wire. How do I get it off! I have just purchased a new replacement lever and casing so any advise on how I fix new one on would be great, thank you! I forgot to say, it is the passenger side front door.

if its the clip im thinking of it spins and clips to the wire, to remove push off the wire to rotate it then you can get the bit out.

these are the ones fitted in a bongo.
