lay flat seats

Post by pinkietay » Fri Jul 08, 2016 4:29 pm

Hi,

I have bought a bongo but realised the configuration isn't working at all because the seats don't lay flat (backwards), they only fold forwards, which isn't ideal for sleeping on.

Reading on the forum it seems that you can get seats that lay flat, which may be a solution, as opposed to buying a rock and roll bed.

Can anyone confirm this please or know where I can source a new seat.

Thanks.

Hi,
All seats in our unconverted tintop go flat, as we use a memory foam matress to cover up contours of the foam.
Have the seats been changed from standard?

I tried to upload a photo but the file was too big!

They look like the original seats but they have the plastic tray/table back to them so you can fold them forward and they are obviously raised from the rest of the seats to make up a bed.

So either your head or feet are high laying down.

As I'm renting the van out I need to find the most economical solution quickly.

I've been quoted 2k to remove all existing and fit a rock and roll bed.

The backwards facing seat is a strange pull out frame with cushions on.

Bearing in mind this has a side kitchen, if anyone has any ideas of cheaper solution, I would be really grateful.

The seats with the plastic trays on the back have a lever lower down that tilts the seat backwards.
