Bongo Fury

Have posted about a little LPG issue, so thought I would go the distance and mention a whine, or fairly high pitched musical hum if our Bongo is loaded and we drive up a hill, or accelerate. No noise at all if lightly loaded.
Did a search on the forum, and came across a power steering issue (no problems there, fluid good) and also a possible rear diff?
Would value any thoughts.

I have a very slight high pitched whine/whistle that first appeared a few years ago. Its only at certain speeds in gears and when under load. I'm pretty sure its gearbox related. At first i worried about gearbox failure but it never happened and now, many thousands of miles later (and as its so slight) i pay it no heed. No idea what brought it on though.Does the speed at which yours happens vary with which gear you're in? If not then maybe its more diff related?

This is possibly normal turbo noise.

Possible Bob but i've pretty much discounted that. I think though that after all this time and miles it must be judged as non threatening, and it is barely noticeable. The OPs noise might be different though so maybe he needs to get a mechanics opinion.

Basically, when there's four of us, 2 adults, 2 teenagers plus day trip stuff, then when accelerating away, sometimes on the flat or uphill, then the whine, or a high pitched 'musical hum' appears, and is fairly loud and is in about 2 or 3 gear, ease off slightly and disappears.
We had the transmission fluid replaced a few months ago, so confident its at the right level. No juddering, slipping and acceleration is fine, so thinking its sounds more alarming than what it is.
48,000 miles, 2.5V6 petrol.

Replacing (not just topping up) oil in diff is a cheap thing to eliminate and good maintenance anyway.

Alternator bearings .. drive belt ..??

could check stationary as this would show up with engine revs irrespective of gear and engine load?

Many thanks for your replies, it's going to a certain friendly expert at Plymouth to have some TLC. Will also have our presumably leaky air con looked at as well, just in case it can be repaired.
