Central locking motor

Hi folks.... My passenger door central locking motor has stop working. I've taken the motor out and opened it up and the plastic cog and screw mechanism has snapped. Enquiries suggest nearly £300 to import a new motor and I can't locate one at a breakers.
Anyone know if the motor is shared with any other model or if the 'cog and screw' is common to other motors? Seems a simple job to swap this part if I can find one?
Thanks.

That seems to be the wndow mechanism rather than the door lock solenoid, but I stand to be corrected.

Yes you are correct that is the window mech as the advert says, I was only using that as a link to the ebid site.
Good luck.

Mickey,I have heard of a few people doing a modification by fitting a solenoid / actuator .

Do you mean the sliding door closing motor? Isn't the passenger front door just solenoid operated?

Its a motor, and when the mechanism gets a bit dry etc the plastic drive goes TU .

Blimey, its a motor!
You learn summit new everyday
Well why on earth do they employ a motor?
Could the OP not convert to a solenoid?
Anyone got a picture of that unit?

I've just fitted one, from George at Bongo spares, next day delivery. Mine would operate downwards to lock once then wouldn't unlock. when opened up it appears to run very slowly so not enough torque to power the lock up.
Strange set up.

Hi, I'm having some issues with centrallocking, suspected solenoid so passenger door central locking not working. All other doors operate correct
Tested voltage and connector plug behind door card, so proves wiring loom in door is intact it seems OK, haven't removed any of the solenoid mechanism as trying to find a guidance video to show me step by step. If anyone has a link that would be great.
When you fiddle with rods, the first time you use central locking you can see movements in the lock on the passenger door, but nothing afterward.
Any suggestions, should I remove the solenoid and investigate further?
