What's the WLT stand for in 'WLT Diesel', and how do I know I've got it? Want to order some manuals and just double checking.....

They were originally used in the Mazda "B" series pickup that was facelifted and sold on some markets as a Ford Ranger.WL Engine; this was 2.5 litre basic diesel engine produced through 1992 to 2002. It was a non turbo engine. WL T Engine; this was another 2.5 litre turbo charged diesel engine. Mazda used it in Bongo from 1992 till 2002. WL T Engine (EFI); these engines were based on EFI technology. WL T engine was 2.5 litre turbo charged diesel engine produced from 2002 till 2006.
Now I know why I was so bad at history at school! This makes so much more sense as I always had it that the WLT appeared in the Ford Ranger in 1998. Why would it appear in a Ford after a Mazda - because it is a Mazda engine dohscanner wrote:Sorry but it is the other way round the WL (non turbo) and WL-T (Turbo) are Mazda engines nothing "Ford" about them.

There is also another very different Ford Ranger made in the USA that bears no similarity and shares no parts with the Asian built "Ranger".
