Get your vans out and get up here.
Epic end of year meet at Britains highest pub.
Why you shouldn't come. It's cold, it could snow, you could get stranded (in a pub), it's in the middle of nowhere, you may get lost
Why you should come. It's cool, it's 1732feet above sea level, it's got BEER, it's got FOOD (if the chef turns up

), it's got music, it's got open fires,it's got sheep (sometimes in the pub), it's got brilliant views, it's got great atmosphere, good company, it's in't North (Yorkshire, Gods own country, allegedly),
Seriously, it's a great place. Those who have been before will keep coming back and those who haven't, well you're missing out big time if you don't.
Weekend of 26/27 November, Saturday night only or longer if you want, up to you. You might not want to leave, or might not be able to.
Parking is free in the car park but expect to be in the pub for food and drink, no hook ups.
Suggest you get there as soon as possible on the Saturday afternoon as the car park will fill up. There is additional parking literally across the lane and more a bit further up the road.
Please post on here if you are coming so that we can let the pub know how much beer to get

Come on, you know want to.
The Tan Hill Mob.

Everyone should visit Tan Hill at some point. We had the great honour of doing a gig in the barn at (i think) the first ever Bongo gathering at Tan Hill, some years back (jeebers how the years fly by). They had to wash the duck sh*t off the stage before we could set up. Its that kind of place - mad Yorkshire, just the best

Agreed, great place. When we visited we inadvertently left the back door of the car open while talking and ended up with a sheep in the back of the car!
November up there, you must be mad!

Small correction. Just to clarify.
Whilst the car park is actually free the pub do ask for (or did last time) a £5/night donation to charity.

They are mad. The Bongo meet we gigged at was July

Yes we're up for this. It's a super venue, and don't forget their epic breakfasts they do too - but you have to book them the previous night.
The journey there can be pretty spectacular too, don't be a wuss and use the A66 - instead go via Hawes (where you can get a convenient pick-me-up of deep-fried Wensleydale & chips from Ye Olde Chippie), then hold tight and go over the Butter Tubs pass and through Thwaite and Keld before approaching Tan Hill from the south over Stonesdale Moor & West Stones Dale. The road out of Keld is tough, but you're not likely to crash into anything
A couple of photos below in case you're wondering what the place looks like during a Bongo invasion. Go on, you can be part of the next one - you know you want to!

As an aside, although it's wild-camping there, the pub is open to around 2am and even after that there are latrines available 24/7. Bring warm sleeping gear though, it can get a tad chilly up there

As Muz says, use the lanes and visit here as well either going or coming.
and get some some of this.

More cheese Grommit.
Oh yes, forgot to mention, there are toilets.
As an aside, Muzzes brekky, think he had at least two

I think I'm going to have to organise a month long meet to take into account Silverdale, Allithwaite and Tan Hill! Would then cover the time and expense of getting up there at this time of year!

I'll be there, great time last time -5 it was, but not in the pub. In the morning though I was wishing I'd spent a bit less time in there. Gas wouldn't burn properly too for our bacon sarnies due to the cold.
