Post by andyb36 » Tue Oct 25, 2016 11:25 am

the time has come to say farewell

Image

some may recognise this pic - well I may be jumping to the dark side of the transporter

I've not advertised my bongo yet - and will be after the weekend - hopefully not broke any rules

any one pre interested or know of someone that may be wanting a true - unbelievable reliable bongo - then message me

lots of pics and extras included - but all this will be in an ad once I contact ian

that's if I dare venture away after 10 years of wonderfull motoring

cheers andy

That will be tough after all that time, but you now the rules.

Still welcome on here and at Meets, whatever you drive. 8)

well im sorry - but it would be rude not to love this one

red - not every ones choice - but nor was aqua green lol

the weirdest thing was - after I emailed the guy - no lie - I had 2 occasions - that Friday afternoon and Saturday morning

2 different persons in traffic queues sticking there thumbs up to tell me how nice my van was

very bizarre....

well I cant say I don't blame the guy

he has pulled out - - don't get me wrong

I now have a super clean - washed and waxed bongo to cruise round in

not that it was ever dirty inside - I think I hovered for an hr

every dot of dust gone

musty admit - I did smile driving her to work this morning giving her a good pat on the steering wheel

so - sorry guys - your still stuck with me -

Excellent news. That is/was a lovely VW (love the red) but the Bongo has many features i suspect you might start to miss after the initial excitement. 10 years of owning one vehicle is bound to produce an itch for change but it'll take an outstanding new car to get you owning it for another 10 years. And after 10 years the Bongo owes you very little. I treated mine to a new bumper, some quality welding, removal of a small dent and a bit of respraying this year and that rekindled my loyalty. I'll probably treat her to a bit more TLC when i retire next year. And then i'll get out and enjoy some more Bongo travels :-) 8)

ahhh the guy text me and apologised - its back on

I understand where he is coming from - the whole reason for selling the t5 was to fund half the funds for an extension
being mortgage and loan free he didn't want a loan - so van was going

couldn't face being without the van - he looked into a loan

  - after finding he will have a loan for 350 a month for 3 years he doesn't want the dept around his neck and the van has to go if the extension is the families priority

he has told me to view regardless - and will pay for my fuel if I walk away - if I take her - she has just had 60 quid of fuel put in a day ago - as he withdrawn the sale

an emotional rollercoaster - indeed

10 bloody years my baby has never missed a beat - never broke down - never faltered

in fairness - serviced sometimes twice a year - and new bits added for the sake of it sometimes

I actually have about 150 quids worth of bits to add the next service

will keep you guys up to date

I think a VW and a Bongo would soon become very good stable mates.

They would certainly be happy to take turns at adventures and chat about where they had each been over a mug of diesel. 8)

hello all

with a sad heart - the bongo is going - because I am the new proud owner of 'red'

I have sent ian a message and a couple of photo,s to advertise her on here 1st . someone will get a cracking bongo

with or without all the bits to make her affordable

I even have £180 quids worth of bits for servicing here - oil-filters- full set of drop links and other bushes too etc

2 spare tyres - original front grill - 2 new batteries - forgot to add that in the advert

never missed a beat in 10 years - I will miss her - and will always have a soft spot for her

but I must admit - the t5 has been done to an extreme high spec and quality

you wouldn't know your in a van !! soundproofing - captain seats - interior is like 12 months old - she really has been looked after and money spent

full vw service history with recent service and cam belt done, she really is - if not better than the pic I showed earlier

so - start of a new era -

Can't deny that VW looks a stunner. Hope you get lots of pleasure from her and the new owner for yours likewise. Enjoy, and keep in touch (some interior pics of the VW would be fun if you had a moment to post them).
