Hi there!

Has anyone fitted a Fiama F45 to a tintop with a converted roof?

If so which brackets did you use?

Cheers!

I have a 45 going onto mine although it is an AFT. These awnings are heavy, too heavy to hang off the gutter using the normal kit in my opinion.

AV leisure do a mounting kit transferring the load to almost a direct push down into the gutter channel and spread the load onto the roof cap also.
They achieve this by using the Staple holes on the AFT roof. I wonder if these fixing points are on the tin top?

The link ending shows " fits aft only" so I would imagine they are not but you may want to consider drilling through your roof and mounting them.
The headlining is easy to remove here by enough to allow access to the underside.
Use a piece of rubber under the bracket where it lays on the roof and cover the bolt and the hole with PU sealant before tightening up to avoid leaks.

If not then maybe after you have fitted the awning regular flooding of the gutter channel with dilute wax would be wise.
You will not see the rusting taking place as it will occur inside the roof cant rails where the gutter/ roof cap welds into place.

In the first image you can see how the roof cap sits onto the gutter rail and where the water could penetrate if the old sealant were to fail through flexing, The second shows the AFT staples I referred to earlier.

I'd love one of these awning but can't bring myself to stomach the cost which, with brackets is heading to £500 or so new. Ouch! And i'd worry about it being a thief magnet. :-(
