Bongo Fury

Hi, the passenger side Wing mirror does not fold (the driversame side does) I have tested the electrics and power is getting to the motor.
I have now bought a new Wing mirror plugged it in and all is working as it should.
The problem is my Wing mirror is white and the new one is black. Is there any way to remove the motor so I can swap them around?
I have removed all the screws but can't seem to find a way to get it out.

Is it possible? Or do I just take the replacement mirror for a respray?

Probably easiest would be to get an aerosol in matching color, from Bongo shop?, and repaint it.
Key the surface with a kitchen scourer (the ones with the sponge in the back) first get it all matt looking, mask it up and paint it. If its mettalic you will need a laquer top coat.

As I recall there are 3 screws on the mounting coloumn, that need to be released to allow the internals to be separated from the support itself.

The replacement mirror has the 3 screws but it would require removing the plug from the wire to pull it through the mirror. The old mirror does not have the 3 bolts and requires separation from inside the mirror. I have decided as bongolia suggested to just buy some white paint and spray the replacement mirror (this should save me from having 2 broken electric mirrors).

Very wise move - Bongo folding mirrors are tricky to tinker with from personal memory

I was going to try and tackle linking up the folding mirrors to the central locking but I will probably leave that alone to.
I was reading somewhere yesterday mikeonb4c that you replaced the rubber seal on your poptop. Was it easy enough to do? I had a look yesterday and with the roof raised there seemed limited clearance (at the back) for sliding the new seal on.

I did the job by assisting my mechanic Adrian at Japandirect so really it was him leading on it. I recall it being tight at the back. I think Adrian considered loosening the hinge bolts to give a bit more clearance but in the end persuaded it into place without having to do that. But don't quote me, as my memory of it is dim!

Thanks mikeonb4c, I will have a go at fitting it this afternoon. Unfortunately I have no mechanic so the wife will have to do.

When I assisted i didn't do much i think i just helped ensure we'd positioned it so the join ended up at back centre. So it was probably a case of the sequencing as to where we pushed the seal home. And I'm guessing also we only raised the roof just enough to do the job else we'd not have been able to reach it at the front. If you're prepared to wait, Adrian is very helpful and if you tell him Mike suggested calling, I'm sure he'll try and remember how it's best done. I do recall it was a bit tight/scary round the back though. His number is 0161-763-3003
