Hi folks
I am looking to fit a bike carrier to the rear door of the bongo and have found the following.I
Fiamma Carry Bike specially designed for the Mercedes Vito & Mazda Bongo before 2004 with single rear door.
However you have to remove the spoiler to fit the bike rack. Have any of you wonderful people fitted one of these and how difficult is the removal of the rear spoiler. Or can anyone suggest a different bike rack, I only want to carry 2 bikes
Thanks in advance.

I use a Pendle rack which mounts on the tow bar.
You fit a bracket behind the ball then the rack slots in.
You can't open the rear door with it in place.

I use an Avenir carrier for up to 3 bikes. See this thread for pics and my comparison with the Thule.

We wanted to take up to four bikes but as standard the 973 is for two, and you can add one or two more bike rails. We used the 973-02 fitting kit but the 973-18 works too. Some photos below of how ours has turned out, we fitted it in 2010 and it's been a long way since then.
Hey! thinking about getting this, can you confirm if this is the right fitting kit for a 96 bongo?

Yes that looks right. That's just the fitting kit though, you still need the basic rack as well of course.

Hello,
Any advise on locations for steps 4, 5 & 6 in the instruction manual?
Bottom clip, rubber pad size and top clip length?
Many thanks

Thank you for that.
Did you have to take the spoiler off to fit it?

Yes, but it's not vital, you can hook the top clips on with it still in place.

Hello there I am about to pick up my first bongo in a couple of weeks and the first thing I want to do is fit a rack? Mine is a 2005 aero with spoiler. Am I right in thinking the Thule 973 would also be suitable. Also I've had a nightmare fitting these things before and am completely cack handed. Does anyone know where I could buy one and get them to fit it in the Coventry/Birmingham area?

Cheers Bob will do. Think it may have to be a towbar and rack on that to be honest as I'm useless at fitting things myself!
