Afternoon everyone. I'll be using my phone for sat nav and so will need to put something in place to hold it.
What have you guys done for phone mounts/cradles/stands?

We've never had a proper mount in the Bongo and have just made do, but this time I seem to have had the best solution yet.
In the cubby hole in front of the gear lever we have a variety of bits filling the hole, at the front was a bag or crisps that I hadn't eaten. Placing my phone on the crisps - I was able to mount it to the correct angle by moulding the bag of crisps to shape. Did a good few hundred miles over several separate journeys and it was perfect!
I know it sounds daft, but sometimes simple things like this can work out the best, and if not you can just eat the crisps!

Just done a 1300 mile trip to Scotland and back using my phone for this purpose. Found that it sat quite happily at the back of the large cubby box in the dashboard. To stop it slipping over under vigorous acceleration (!) I put the phone's slip case in front of it. i did get a suction cup type holder but is was bloomin' useless.

I use a flexy neck holder bought from ebay. I took the sucker off and screwed it into an inverted spray can lid. It sits in the cup holder sockets and holds my phone or my Hudl. Works well.

Its the original ultrasonic sensor display option on Bongo's the front display is what you see above, and there is also a rear display that is visible in the internal rear mirror when looking out the back so you can both see and read the distance from the wall etc at the same time.

Ok, so I ended up using the same solution in the wagon as in my motor.
This is the Breffo Spiderpodium. Fits pretty much anywhere on anything. Worked very well for my first trip away in the Bong last week.
I'll post some pics. Any views on the best way to do so?

I bought this and used it for the first time the other day, haven't got a pic of it in situ but I can confirm that it didn't move at all on a 6hr journey..

If you have your phone in a case or don't mind sticking a thin metal disc on the back then the magnetic holders are brilliant. All that's visible is a smallish rubber covered disc. The phone just pips straight on.
I have the vent mounted version like this

But you can get other mounting options.
I have a gel type case so the metal plate on the phone is stuck inside the case, it's very thin. My daughters phone has a removable back and the disc even fits behind that or you can simply stick it on.
Brilliant

Just bumping thread and pulling myself up here. Turns out my previous post was a bit premature, by my next journey the pad had lost all it's tackyness and the phone ended up on the far side of the dashboard everytime I turned a corner.
So I got one of these from Amazon for £8.99
They're the type that slots into your CD slot, not having a CD slot, my idea was to drill a couple of holes and tap it in to the spare void above the stereo. Turns out it's rubber over metal, so not having a metal drill bit I unscrewed the slot part, screwed it on to wood, covered with fabric and tapped it in.
