Rear bike rack

Apologies if this is posted in wrong section or been asked hundereds of times before...... looking for a bike rack and the Fiamma appear to be good but I’ve usually had Thule products on previous vehicles. Fiamma rack to fit bongos- any experience or suggestions for an alternative?

Edit - we have a spoiler fitted at the top of the rear door so I guess it’s likely to cause fitting issues?

We use a Pendle rack.

Bracket fits behind the tow ball and you slot the rack into it.

You can't open the tail gate with it on, but jolly good. 8)

have a search for bike and rack there is a plethora of posts. Not a mention of thule (tool) in my memory. Be prepared to see lots of pictures that don exist anymore but the fiamma numbers will be important. Fiamma and MUZ maybe a fruitful search as he's written several times.

Thanks, no tow bar so needs to be door mounted. Will continue to chech out photos on the site to see how people have fitted them without cutting the spoiler. Cheers

I think there's a lot to be said for the cheap Halfords type. Light enough so the tailgate still lifts. Quick to put on (permanent ones obscure rearward vision). High enough not to obscure number plate. Plenty going cheap 2nd hand. Takes 3 bikes.

This is the thread you want, I have a Thule it fits and works well although i think they are far too expensive for what they are. I bought mine used.

Now thinking about fitting a tow bar and using my existing tow bar rack. Have read that the Bongoland kit is the one to go for as the best for the Bongo. So, can I tap into the rear light wires or does the Bongo use that canbus stuff? Cheers

Good I’ve fitted 7 pin stuff to cars in the past ( mk2 Fiesta) so reckon this is the way to go. I have a ‘tilting’ bike rack already so would be able to open rear door with the bikes attached to the rack. Plus I’ve a 6x4 trailer - well you never know when you need extra capacity. Oh, did I mention I wanted another dingy? Just need to figure a way of getting two kayaks on the pop top  =D>
