Can someone tell me why on earth an advert for breast enlargement appeared at the bottom of a thread about paintwork on the technical forum?
I suppose I should be thankful (or disappointed perhaps) that it wasn't a pop-up

Most advertising on the web is either based on your viewing habits, or random. Depends on whether you allow cookies or not. If I allow cookies then I see adverts for things I have just bought and no longer interested in! If you have them Off then you get random ones!

I'd always hoped this pestilential cookie crap wouldn't invade the peace, tranquility and sanity of the Church of Bongo, with its steam powered technology. Looks i'm to be disappointed

Certainly web advertising is often influenced by browsing habits through cookies (use a plugin called AutoCookie to get rid of them, but keep the 'good' ones), but I'm surprised you got an ad of any nature at the foot of BF thread, I believe BF doesn't do it. You might want to check your browser isn't compromised.

I have and I am - don't get anything... see

on reflection it could be an Ad-blocker doing this. whatever the cause, I'm happy not to have breast enlargement ads offered

Yes if you have an Ad-blocker installed then it will remove the image itself so nothing shows.
