This official club meeting will take place at Leekworth Camping Park, Middleton in Teesdale, nr Barnard Castle, Co Durham. Tickets are priced at £24 per night. All pitches have hook up. We have 25 pitches available in the adults-only rally field.

As this is a busy time of the year you must book a minimum of 3 nights. Tickets go on sale this Thursday 5th March by phoning the Bongo Fury office on 01142550836. Please have your membership number and vehicle registration available when you phone.

If there are children in your party you can still book, but you will be in an adjacent part of the site. This must be done directly through the campsite subject to availability.

Yes, come and find us. The site owner may ask for a fee for day visitors which can be avoided by parking down the lane and walking along the river to the rally field.

I'd now put the chances of this event taking place as 50-50. Unless there is a second viral wave or adverse medical advice some campsites may re-open in early July. HOWEVER what we don't know is whether on-site facilities will be available. It is doubtful that the village pubs will be open but the shop will be. Local tourist attractions (Barnards Castle is just down the road!) are likely to remain shut.

We have booked 24 pitches all with electric and we have 17 people booked. We are booked in the "adult only" Rally field. Over the next few days we will be contacting all have made an advance booking and offer them the choice of cancelling now or going ahead with the booking. A decision will be required by Tuesday 16th June.

By the 16th June we should know whether the site will be re-opening, whether the facilities are open, and the nature of the self-distancing rules. Assuming the meeting goes ahead we will then take bookings for the remaining places on Thursday 18th. There will still be an opportunity to cancel if circumstances change and the last date for refunds will be Tuesday 30th June.

If the campsite remains closed or restricted then you will be offered a refund or a credit note for a corresponding meeting in July 2021.

Complicated or what?

I thought it was a new Visitor Attraction location ;-)

I so nearly replied shortly after but thought I'd better not make too much of a political comment ;-)

Much as I'd love to see you all again, I've been invited to a meet closer to home for this weekend. I think I'm gonna tootle around my own area for the first trip out longer than 1 day! I was going to stay on a farm on the top of the moors, near Newbiggin, and come and visit but it's an awful long haul for me with a bongo that needs a good service from Allan!

I hope I'll see you all in Looe, as that's when the service/MOT is booked for.

Unless we hear different we assume this meeting (16 to 20 July) is going ahead and booking re=commences tomorrow morning for club members only. There may be limited facilities and local tourist attractions may not be open. Everyone who originally booked has been contacted. We still have 8 places left, although more may become available. You are quite welcome to make a booking and you will still be able to cancel up to 30th June or, if the campsite does not re-open you can be re-booked for July 2021. See members area for details.

Hopefully this is the first post-lockdown Bongo meeting.

I will wait for the published guidance for campsites to appear on gov.uk, then contact Middleton, and check local tourist attractions, and then report back. But it looks OK to me.

We have 7 places left.
