Great work. What I like about these old buses is there's so much you CAN work on (unlike new cars). Just the kind of car you need when time is plentiful and cash and garage services are not (due to social distancing). Zen and the Art of Bongo Maintenance ๐Ÿ˜†

Zen and the Art of Bongo Maintenance sums it up in so many ways, either when sheโ€™s broken down or buzzing along an open road - just makes you smile and enjoy life. Read the book if you havenโ€™t.

So how long do we think before we can start travelling again ?
I'm rather pessimistic about a likely date at the moment, I suspect that they might want to keep it to essential - work related - travel only for quite a while :-(

I've a bad feeling you're right, Geoff. :(

I suspect campsites and pubs will be among the last businesses to be allowed to open, plus travel restrictions.

I'm not hoping for any trips this year, but will make up for it next year, and if we do get out sooner it will be a real bonus. Maybe a 'virtual Stourport' to cheer us all up. 8)

So bad I've even painted the outside of Panda Towers, a job I've been putting off for 'some while'.

Yes a Virtual Stourport might be a nice idea, have to look into the video conferencing systems and see what is available cheap :-)
Yes I think any trips outside the county are going to be bonus this year, hope I'm wrong but until there is a vaccine and most of us have had it or the real thing, then I can't see anywhere wanting or being allowed to arrange mass gatherings, maybe small groups might be allowed but we will have to wait and see ....

I think the problem is with Bongos is that they are not self-sufficient. I can see campsites opening again over the summer as it is easy to self isolate in the outdoors, but using facilities could be a problem. As could travelling any distance to get there.

In the meantime here's some tips to make sure your Bongo is ready when restrictions are lifted

I think once they start allowing people back to work/school then motorised travel will obviously increase and the 'lockdown' in the sense of remaining indoors will hopefully end; that will be fine for me rather selfishly as I can then get out into the countryside again for a drive in my van/cars for walks and bike rides; not worried so much about the use of pubs, restaurants and least of all campsites; still unsure how hill walking or driving my own car or eating a meal in the back of it after a walk etc has an impact on spreading Covid.

Maybe a little list of handy jobs we could all do on our bongos during lockdown would be useful? Nothing too techie just handy little tart ups? I bought my Bongo in December and she went straight to body shop so don't have her back yet, but am compiling a list of stuff to do:

*convert all internal lights to LED
*order inverter
*order leisure battery and tray
*order switch relay for alternator to leisure battery
*find a good mould spot remover for AFT tent
*reverse middle bench seat (and fit additional lap belts to same)
etc etc etc

Hi

Seems like a useful list. :)

I'm pretty sure there's a Fact Sheet on turning the middle seat in the Members' Area. 8)
