gas drop vent

Hi there, I'm planning on doing a DIY conversion on our bongo (currently it still has the original day van layout).

I think I've got most stuff figured out, but we're going to have a fridge and cooker, so thinking a gas drop out vent is a good idea.

Two questions to other self converters...do you have a gas drop vent? if so where did it go? Worried about hitting something when drilling it, or it letting in water when driving.

Both Bongo’s full side conversion, first it was at the back not far from boot already done when I bough it, sealed into locker itself.

Second I’ve removed rear heater matrix so just used one of the nice holes Mazda made for me to run from inside locker outside the vehicle :D

It depends on where you intend to put the bottle locker. Just check underneath first. I used a soffit board vent with a mesh cover and cut the hole with a 32mm hole cutter and strapped the bottle over it.Mine was at the rear offside.

Bit off topic but I also removed the rear heater and stuck a chinese Eberspacher clone in there. Works a treat and plumbs into Bongo vent system. It is suprising how much space there is in there once you get the old unti out. I still have half of it unused

Same, got fridge compressor down there and just pipe work for water drain and gas drop

Only problem is it’s now really hard to get to as one of the advantages of removing the heater was that I could extend my floor

Still trying to find somewhere to put my heater but fuel supply (diesel in petrol) biggest issue there

If you have 2.0ltr there is space in the engine bay on the NS on top of the chassis rail. The heater supply tank should be lower than the heater so maybe under slung tank?
