Hi all,

Have taken bumper off so I can fix some of the arches with some sheet metal but have come across this unit that looks like it has a fan in it, what exactly is it as it doesn't look like it works at all based on the condition!

Thanks in advance

A siren type of horn, possibly leftover from a previous alarm.

Is this a petrol model? Is there any pipework on it?
It looks a bit like an air pump you would find on petrol cars with a catalyst, its used for making the cat heat up faster to operating temperature.

Nope this is a diesel model. No pipes or anything going to it.

Hmmm, to be fair i though the Bongo might be a bit old to have something like this but it certainly looks like a secondary air pump.
If that's ruled out then I reckon its some sort of additional horn/siren as said above.
Does any wiring tap into the horn wiring just above it?
You could power it up & see if it blasts out anything in Japanese

Doesn't bear thinking how the Dukes of Hazzard would have treated a Bongo.
