12 digit vin code... Need cert of conformity

Hi All,
I'm looking to register my UK reg ford Freda in Ireland and the tax man is looking for a letter from dealer confirming age, country of manufacture and vin of the van.
I've been into the ford COC dept and they've asked for the vin which is usually 17 digits. But the one on the inside passenger door, and under the hood is stamped as 12 digit, starting with the model number.

I'm still waiting on ford to reply, but the VIN seems weird. Has anyone any info on this or experienced a similar issue?

Cheers

The VIN on Mazda vehicles is only 12 characters long starting with SG mainly, they tend to be longer these days hence the 17 digits on modern vehicles!

Following Geoff's good advice I'd just put zeros before the number, to fill up the boxes.

And welcome aboard. 8) years

Thanks for the info.
Still no word back from ford.
Has anyone any experience in getting the Cert of conformity? Since it's s rebadged Mazda bongo should I be looking to Mazda for this? It's registered in UK under as a ford name and has a ford badge in the front.
Cheers
Dave

See here might be worth doing a search on "conformity" for other responses https://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum ... 36#p663936

Thanks Geoff and Bob.
Been Searching everywhere for someone with similar issues and no joy.
Seems like most people get issues when completing the CVRT mot steps. I'm not even at that point.

Hopefully I can get something sorted soon

Cheers.
