Webasto oil-heated water

We exchanged a trailer to a full-blown Bongo camper with a webasto oil-heated water. It is very effective, heats the water quickly, in about 1 -2 minutes, you can set the water temperature, it is mounted under the car, inside there are only brass elbows through which you can probably flow heated water.
Separately and in a different place, we have a webasto heating the air. They are not connected to each other and have separate silencers.
During the inspection at the service station, it turned out that there is a small leak of red liquid from a pipe under the car.
My question is on what principle does such water heating work?
Can there be coolant in the circuit?
