Electric Window help. Recommended Local garage/mechanic/electrical person
Hi, I'm in South Wales and was wondering big anyone could recommend somewhere that might be able to help with my most recent fault..
The passenger window has always been slow to go down, today it would not move at all, then it did, now it won't go up.
I'm not sure if it's an old wires issue or broken motor and need someone with some more skills than I have to look at it.

Can you hear the Motor trying to operate when you press the switch?

Often the problem can be sorted to the drivers door wiring loom where it crosses over on the door hinge there is a repair kit available if that is the problem https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/bespokeautoe ... ervices_uk

This is typical of a broken wire in a door loom, the drivers door loom is the most likely, the wires break with all the flexing, they are inside a black convoluted tube and every time the door is used the wires flex until they start snapping. Hence the kit to replace all the wires as once they start going the others aren't far behind!

So I changed the wiring in the drivers door. Central locking and speaker now work. However passenger window still dead. What would be the sensible thing to test next?

It can also happen in the passenger door loom, less frequent, but worth checking with a meter to see which loom is causing the problem.

Problem with recommending someone local is we don’t know where you are.

Check the passengers window switch on the drivers door control panel.
