Hot Nights..

Post by Bongolian » Tue Jan 16, 2024 8:27 pm

Hey folks, I’m looking to fit a diesel heater to my unconverted Bongo Free Top (Triclick type) to increase the opportunities to camp.
Most things I’ve read suggest the 2Kw option is sufficient, however they seem a little thin on the ground out there in Tinterweb land, though there’s plenty of 5Kw ones available.

Have any of you fitted either.?
Have any experiences to share re warmth.?

To add a little context, we will be using it to warm the full space with roof popped. We have a slide in sink/hob unit which once one row of seats are removed, also doubles as a bed base with the remaining seat.
Given our ‘increasing maturity’ we’ll likely sleep inside (mostly) on the bed rather than ‘upstairs’.
We also have an awning so, depending on all sorts, may wish to sit in there of an evening with heat blowing through to warm that space too.

Any/all experiences / advice most welcome.

The 5Kw ones end up being under-run and hence they carbon up and have problems, they are more available simply because they are too much for smaller vans!
