Bongo Fury

So, just fitted my temp / coolant sensor from Haydn today, just bee for a run with it.

Drove about 20 miles @ 60mph - Rock steady 52 degrees c then came back at 70 mph and it topped out at 56 degrees c

Is that about normal? I have placed the sensor in t he recommended place per the instructions

Should say those temperatures are quite low, but if your a 2l petrol understandable, however a diesel can get a LOT hotter quite safely! Bear in mind the whole point of the sealed pressurised system is to raise the boiling point above the normal 100°C which allows more heat to be moved away so its quite normal to see a much higher temperature when the cooling system is doing its job!

If you have concerns then contact haydn callow on here as it was developed and sold via the forum at the start, and I do believe Haydn still comes on from time to time ... yes last on end of last year.

Maybe related to the thermostat? it's possibly stuck in the open position or has been removed? You could check if the bottom hose starts getting warm within a couple of minutes of the engine starting from cold. With a properly working thermostat, it normally takes quite a long time to feel warm.
