Engine Number

Please forgive my Ignorance but where are the engine and chassis numbers to be found I can,t see them in the engine compartment.

The chassis number is on a metal plate on the passenger door pillar. Bongos/Fredas do not have engine numbers though.

Thanks Ian Iv,e had a letter from the DVLA asking for Chassis and Engine number for my new Reg Document.

Hi
The engine number is stamped on the block on the drivers side on the front of the block just below the cylinder head.
